PETRICHOR: NOVEL + ART
PETRICHOR
A GIRL, A DOG, AN ADVENTURE.
PETRICHOR: THE SOJOURNER, THE FIRST NOVEL IN A FOUR-PART SERIES IS COMING SOON.
Alexandra Aubrey wants adventure, experiences, and a place where she belongs. On the cusp of her seventeenth birthday, her family introduces her to the secret island nation of Saffeer, but they do not warn her about the challenge that awaits, the unusual denizens, or the gods she will meet while she attempts a task every Aubrey before her failed. Failure may result in exile, heartbreak, or even death. Alexandra may find community in Saffeer, but acceptance comes with risks and sacrifices.
PETRICHOR is a story about relationships and self-discovery wrapped in an adventure with a fantasy backbone. Book One follows a traditional youth-to-hero story arc and the evolution from innocence to warrior. Action scenes are sandwiched between quieter scenes, with the pacing of a road trip.
A note for my punk community: Though Petrichor is not directly about subcultures or punk, the story parallels the experience of finding punk culture. It's about finding where we belong in the world.
GENRE: Modern Mythology, Portal Fantasy, Contemporary Fantasy.
Audience: Adult and mature teen.
Romance rating: 3 peppers (Open door, medium spice, readers present for intimate scenes.)
Warnings: Paganism, references to drugs and alcohol, talking animals.
