FOREST SPIRITS
Bear.
Arktos.
The oldest god, and associated with countless other gods and heroes, including Zeus, Artemis, Odin, and King Arthur. A symbol of strength, renewal, seasonal cycles, meditation, and the divine self-sacrifice. Perhaps the bear was even the inspiration for early art. Bear claw marks sit beside some of the earliest cave drawings.
In some ancient languages, the word "god" and "bear" are the same.
The Moth Queens and (here) the Moth Maidens protect the old god, making offerings... the sweet fruit and the seed of renewal. Skull and seed, dove and bone. Ancient and fragrant wood. We are all part of the cycle. We are all part of the literal and symbolic forest where the bear reigns.
