Alexandra Aubrey wants adventure, experiences, and a place where she belongs. On the cusp of her seventeenth birthday, her family introduces her to the secret island nation of Saffeer, but they do not warn her about the challenge that awaits, the unusual denizens, or the gods she will meet while she attempts a task everyone in her family has failed…resulting in exile, heartbreak, and even death. Alexandra may find community, but acceptance comes with risks and sacrifice.
PETRICHOR is a story about relationships and self-discovery wrapped in an adventure with a fantasy backbone. Book One follows a traditional youth-to-hero story arc and the evolution from innocence to warrior. Action scenes are sandwiched between quieter scenes with the pacing of a road trip.
Though it is not directly about subcultures or punk, the story parallels the experience of finding punk culture.
